Jill Herrin, CEO
Hello. My name is Jill Herrin and I would like to introduce myself to you and welcome you to the JDResources blog. I started JDR in 1987 with Danny McKinney, then a highly technical Systems Programmer. Twenty-two years later, Danny is our CTO and IT lifeline! Our firm brings European precision and American assertiveness to the search process enabling us to find and represent the top talent. My background in recruiting started in the late 1970′s in my home town of London, England. I moved to Tennessee in 1982 and started JDR in 1987 to create a first class firm dedicated to providing Technical People Resources.
Danny McKinney, CIO
Danny McKinney is the CIO for JDResources; he began his career over 30 years ago as a Computer Operator for a local Memphis cotton company. During the years that followed, he worked for a number of companies with increasing responsibilities. The final position he held in Information Technology was Sr. Systems Analyst for the Unisys Corp. When seeking a change in employment, he spoke with Jill Herrin about finding a new opportunity. During this conversation, she mentioned becoming a Recruiter and, after several weeks of talking, he changed careers. Danny worked as a Recruiter for JDResources for 12 years, during which time he worked on computer related development in the background. As technology grew, it became more time consuming, so Danny became full-time CIO for the company. He has been with JDR for over 22 years now.
Evelyn Walker, CFO
My name is Evelyn Wellford Walker. I received my BS degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University where I was first introduced to recruiting as a Roadrunner which is MSU’s group of student recruiters. After graduation, I joined First Tennessee National Corporation as a staff accountant in the Finance Division. I started with JDResources in October 1989 as an Accounting Recruiter, but we decided my talents could best be used if I returned to Accounting which I did in 1992. I’m the money girl at JDR. I wear a number of different hats throughout the day including Payroll, Benefits, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Human Resources.
Tammy Bell, Accounts Receivable Manager
Hi, I’m Tammy Bell and I’ve worked for JDR for more than 17 years. I’m the proud mother of a delightful little boy and have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 15 years. When I make a commitment, whether personal or professional, I never give less than a 100%. Starting at the front desk and working my way through, I have enjoyed learning about this business and using my knowledge in ways that are beneficial to clients and candidates. I am grateful to be working with a company that utilizes everyone’s individual talents to make us all succeed. My position, dealing with the accounting aspects of the company, enables me to contribute to JDR’s overall success, as well as, the relationship I am able to establish with our contractors.
Don Carmon, Account Manager
Don Carmon began his IT career in 1985 as a software developer. In 1995, he joined JDResources as applications developer and project leader. He’s worked for numerous Fortune 500 companies including International Paper, Promus Companies (now Hilton Hotels), Smith & Nephew Orthopedics, and IBM. In 2000, he began technical recruiting for JDResources and has since won multiple awards from the Tennessee Association of Personnel Services. A native Memphian, he attended Memphis State University and is a graduate of Control Data Institute. He lives in Collierville, Tennessee with his wife and four sons.
Nicole Johnson, Technical Recruiter
Hi! My name is Nicole Johnson and I am a Technical Recruiter and New Media Producer for JDR. I started out at the front desk as a Secretary here at JDR. With JDR, I have found a home and a career. Since becoming a Recruiter, my job has been very challenging, exciting and rewarding. I am also lucky to work with so many amazing mentors from whom I have the privelege of learning this business. Outside of work, I have a beautiful little boy who makes my life wonderful every day!
Sharon Fox, Executive Assistant
My name is Sharon and I am an Executive Assistant at JDR. I am a slight bit of a perfectionist that loves to work. I am also an eternal optimist that enjoys the beautiful pallet of colors the world has to offer, and I take pleasure in making my work and all things around me reflect this. What I love most about my job is that there is always work to be done and that the opportunity for learning new things is endless.
